BURY ROAD 1. 5232 (north side) Nos 28 and 30 SZ 6099 NE 6/16 SZ 6099 NW 6/16 II Circa 1833, pair of stucco villas; eastern boundary wall (within former stable) has a flush stone panel containing initials SL PW above date 1833. Two-storeys and basement; 1.2.1 windows with set back side porches (original at No 30, 2-storeyed at No 28). Low pitched hipped roofing in slate (No 28 now mostly pantile); wide sloping soffit to eaves with moulding at top of wall, openings are splayed. Ground floor projecting unit has square bay, replaced on No 28, by 2-storeyed Victorian bay. Sashes in reveals. Porches have panels, mouldings, bands, and ornament in Greek style. Rear (garden front) elevation of special interest (intact at No 28), having a 2-storeyed projection with rounded corners, many moulded bands, panels, coupled small windows and a central arched opening with marble steps leading up to inner door. Brick party (garden) wall has a thickened panel with communicating door.
