WOLSINGHAM CHURCH LANE NZ 9737 (North end) Wolsingham 39/352 Mackintosh tomb c.9 metres east of Church of St. Mary and St. Stephen GV II

Headstone. Circa 1828. Sandstone slab, about 2 metres high with shaped top. Long inscription commemorating Robert, died 1828, and William, died 1815, sons of John and Isabella Mackintosh, and Isabella, died 1845, their daughter, aged 11 years, 10 days and 23 years respectively. Poems for Robert - 'Stop Passinger See Here I Lie/What Thou Art Now So Once Was I/What I Am Now So Must Thou BE/ Prepare for Death to Follow ME', and Isabella - ' IN SICKNESS SORE/LONG TIME I BORE/PHYSICIAN WERE IN VAIN/TILL GOD DID PLEASE/TO GIVE ME EASE/AND FREE ME FROM MY PAIN.
