Details
WEST STREET 1. 5231 (North Side) Titchfield Nos 61 to 69 (odd) SU 5305 6/509 II GV 2. Some timber framing remains but facade 1796 datestone centre lst floor. A terrace of 5 cottages, No 61 advanced under hipped gable end. Cottages, stand above street slope with terraced brick walk in front of Nos 63-69 (odd). No 61 grey brick with red headers, No 63 stuccoed and grooved to simulate masonry, rest red brick. Old tiled hipped roof. Large centre stack to Nos 63-69 (odd). 2 storeys. 5 windows in all, sashes with glazing bars and boxed frames. All except No 61 have plank doors with simple flat hoods above (probably modern although not recent). No 61 entered via a passageway under facade of No 63, square panel timber framing exposed in west side wall of this. Nos 49 to 53 (odd) and Nos 57 to 73 (odd) with Nos 36 to 44 (even) form a group (Nos 42 and 44, Nos 53, 57 and 73 are buildings of local interest).
