II
School, formerly schoolrooms and house. Completed in 1863 and designed by William White for a Mrs Mary Gee of Colne house, Earls Colne. Built of red brick in English bond with use of polychromy to accentuate the window heads and stringcourses and some Caen stone dressings Tiled roof and brick chimneystacks. Schoolrooms to right of 2 bays divided by buttresses. Windows are 9 pane casements. Right side elevation has Caen stone pointed transomed window of 3 lights. Left side has 2 trefoil windows and central buttress with shouldered arch details. Rear elevation has 2 projecting gables. Former schoolmaster's house is linked to the school by a combined porch and verandah. Asymmetrical building of 2 storeys 2 windows. Right side projecting gable with one 3-light cambered casement to first floor, similar window and lancet divided by buttress on the ground floor. Three-light casement under gable to right similar window to ground floor, door and tiled verandah supported on chamfered wooden pier. Interior retains folding window shutters.
