2. Mid C19 commercial premises No 30 is possibly slightly earlier. Three storeys painted timber front to No 30, stucco to No 31. The upper storeys have eleven windows each separated only by pilasters, wood on No 30, stucco and broader on No 31. The second floor windows on No 30 are fixed with later glazing bars, the first floor windows have sashes, no glazing bars and flat arches with rounded corners. On No 31 all windows are sash and recessed, unlike those on No 30, no glazing bars. Flat arches with rounded ccorners again to first floor. The front is crowned by a stucco parapet with three panels flanked by sqaut piers the outer panels have cornices and rounded caps to the piers. Main cornice and frieze. Cornice and frieze to first floor. The shop fronts are later with modillion cornice and frieze, thin pilasters with fluted brackets and rounded caps. Windows with moulded mullions, plate glass.
Nos 30, 31 with Nos 3 & 4 St Thomas's Square form a group.
