House, probably C16 altered C17 and added to in C18. Red brick, timber frame,
tile-hanging and tile roof. The original portion to the South is of 3 bays, the
two being of a different date to the one, and structurally distinct. Heavy framing
and straight down braces. Two storeys of which the lower one on the side is under-
built in brick. On each side to the first floor are two diagonal-mullion unglazed
windows revealed in current work: these are in the first and third bays on the
North side (with evidence of another to the third bay on the ground floor) and in
the second and third bays on the South side. Strong internal frames with down braces
and queen struts to the roof. The ceiling beams and bressumer of the substantial
gable stack (which is an early addition) all having shield-shaped stops. At the
east end is a later addition of 2 bays forming a cross wing, with timber of lesser
scantling and cambered-headed windows.
