Details

TQ 2978 SE CITY OF WESTMINSTER ST GEORGE'S SQUARE, SWl 110/12 24.2.58 Church of St Saviour. GV II Church. 1863-4. Cundy Junior, restored 1882 by Romaine Walker. Rubblestone; ashlar dressings. Pitched slate roof to eaves. Geometrical Gothic style. 6 bay aisled nave, clerestory, lower chancel; north-west tower of three stages with ashlar spire recessed behind parapet and clock to second stage. Aisle windows 3-light, those to clerestory 2-light, 6-light west window. Interior reported to contain sanctuary arcading by Romaine Walker, decorated by Kempe c1891-2; some stained glass by Romaine Walker, Kempe, Clayton and Bell; east window designed by Romaine Walker, etc. London, Vol I, N Pevsner.
