LANGPORT CP THE HILL (South side) ST4226 11/117 Gate piers and gates 40 m east of The Gateway GV II
Gate piers and gates. Early C19. Local lias stone piers; wrot and cast-iron gates. Piers plain, square on plan, with thin caps; gates have diagonal patterned Regency style side standards; gates themselves have sweeps and curved braces, with arrowhead points to top and middle rails, diamond ornament to bottom rails. Contributing to both streetscape and the setting of The Gateway (q.v).
