LANGAR CUM BARNSTONE CROPWELL BISHOP ROAD SK73SW (south side) 5/116 The Limes Farmhouse 25.9.79 - II Farmhouse. Late C17, altered, mid C19 addition to rear. Brick. Steeply pitched plain-tile roof with gable copings on square kneelers. Later end stack to left rising from a projecting chimney breast corbelled out at lst-floor level, and off-centre ridge stack. Dentil eaves cornice. The addition has a slate roof with one ridge stack and an end stack to right. Two storeys with band between floors. The former front elevation to the road, has lst-floor brick band and a large, central, stair window. Two smaller casement windows to the left and one to the right, all with C20 glazing. One small window to 1st floor. The garden front is comprised of the single-bay gable end of the main range to left which has a bipartite window to each floor, and the 2-bay C19 addition, at 90°, which has two bipartite casements to each floor. At the junction of the two ranges is a doorway with a hood on shaped brackets. Interior: contemporary staircase with flat, wavey balusters.
