Details

PITCHFORD C.P. PITCHFORD SJ 50 SW 6/146 Pitchford Farmhouse - GV II Farmhouse. Mid-C17, partly remodelled and extended in mid-C19. Timber framed, partly refaced or rebuilt in coursed red sandstone rubble and painted brick; extended in coursed red sandstone rubble; plain tile roofs. T-plan; baffle-entry plan of 2 framed bays with altered and extended cross-wing to south. One storey and attic and 2 storeys. Central brick ridge stack and external brick end stack to right; brick ridge stack and 2 external brick end stacks to left-hand cross-wing and additions. First-floor 2-light wooden casement to left; 2 ground- floor C20 two-light casements to right; lean-to porch in angle to left and 6-panelled door (top 4 panels glazed) in left-hand return front. Mid-C19 addition to left is of 2-bays with horned glazing bar sashes. Lean-to addition and gabled eaves dormer at rear of main range and exposed light timber framing in angle of cross-wing at rear. Interior of main range: chamfered cross-beamed ceiling in left-hand ground-floor room; large open fireplace with renewed lintel; C17 boarded doors with strap hinges.
