TQ 2981 SE CITY OF WESTMINSTER SOHO SQUARE, W1 58/10 5.2.70 Nos. 4, 5 and 6 (Including No. 6 Dean Street) GV II Built as a warehouse, altered to offices. 1801-05,altered as "Trotter's Bazaar" by its owner in 1816, present shop front inserted in 1889. Stock brick with stone faced ground floor, slate roof. 4 storeys and basement. 7 windows wide. Ground floor has 1889 shop front, with segmental pedimented doorway in 2nd bay from left, articulated in 7½ bays by Doric pilasters carrying entablature with dentil cornice. Upper floors have recessed sash windows with late C19 glazing, under flat gauged red brick arches. Stucco cornice and blocking course. Late C19 cast iron area railings. The rear elevation to Dean Street is either that of Trotter's original 1801-04 warehouse or as altered by him for Bazaar in 1816. Stock brick with slight stone dressings. 3 storeys. 3 windows widely spaced. Ground floor is arcaded with segmental arches rising from stone impost blocks on plain piers, those flanking centre stone banded with stone bases. The central archway provides goods access to building. Recessed sash window set in plain walling of left hand bay and right hand bay with doorway with side lights and radial glazed fanlight. Central waggon-way goods passage has semicircular arched doorways to sides with panelled reveals and soffits, side lights, radial fanlights and panelled doors. Upper floors have wide recessed tripartite glazing bar sashes under finely gauged segmental arches. 1st floor painted stone plat band, parapet with coping.
