House. Late C16-C17, incorporating remains of C15 cruck structure. Altered C20. Ironstone rubble, rear and left gable with frequent bands of pale limestone rubble. Front has roughcast eaves below raised C20 pantile roof. Formerly thatched. C17 ashlar chimney of pale limestone to left, with moulded necking and cornice; matching chimney between left bays rebuilt in concrete C20. Two storeys, three bays. C20 two and three-light wooden casements with horizontal glazing bars and wooden lintels, rear windows retaining C16-C17 bonded jambs of pale Ketton limestone. C20 door in gabled wooden porch between right bays. Additional C19 bay to right with slate roof, brick chimney and three-light wooden casement to ground floor.
Interior: chamfered arch-braced cruck truss between right bays; one other cruck blade incorporated in adjacent C16-C17 chimney; this chimney has re-used C15-C16 moulded and embattled wooden lintel to ground floor fireplace; moulded stone fireplace in left bay; heavy stop-chamfered spine and side beams in central ground floor room.
