2. Earlier Cl9 terrace in Greek Revival style. No 2, Fore Street (qv) forms the north end bay of the terrace. 3 storeys. Symmetrical facade with projecting end bays [No 3 The Plains and No 2 Fore Street). Fenestration 1:7:1. Stucco fronts; No 1 retains rusticated ground floor. Welsh slate roof with moulded ridge stacks. End bays with plain pilaster strips on quoins. Plain cornices and panelled parapets; end bays with acroteria on quoins. Plain 1st floor band. Sill bands to 2nd floor windows. Recessed sash windows with glazing bars; 1st floor windows with console- bracketed cornices; 1st floor windows of end bays with sidelights; ground floor window of No 3, segmental arched with voussoirs and sidelights. Nos 1 and 2, modern ground floor shops. No 3, round-arched doorway with fluted Greek Doric 1/4 columns carrying cornice-head, radial fanlight and panelled door. Good cast iron balconies to 1st floor with anthemion decoration.
