Details
WEM RURAL C.P. RUEWOOD SJ 42 NE 10/156 Ruewood Farmhouse - - II Farmhouse. C17 extended late C19 with later additions and alterations. Rendered timber frame clad or rebuilt in late C18 red brick to front; slate and plain tile roof. Original plan a hall range apparently of 2 framed bays (probably with baffle-entry) and a single-bay cross-wing projecting to rear on left; late C19 two-storey brick range projecting at right-angles to right. One storey and attic; 2 segmental-headed late C19 casements to ground floor with late C19 gabled eaves dormers directly above. C20 door to far left under contemporary glazed porch. Axial red brick ridge stack in 2 sections to right of centre. Gable to rear has exposed single-purlin ends; painted brick lean-to in angle between it and main range. Interior: left ground-floor room of main range has large chamfered spine beam and heavy joists; inglenook fireplace. 2-storey C19 addition to right is not of special architectural interest.
