Details
CRESSWELL CRESSWELL VILLAGE NZ 29 SE 8/10 Old School House GV II Former schoolmistress' house, dated 1838 over doorway. Tooled squared stone with ashlar dressings; slate roof. Main part 1 storey, 3 bays. 3-light mullioned windows in double-chamfered surrounds, except for C20 double doors in bay 3. Coped gables with moulded kneelers; stepped and corniced ridge stack with conjoined shafts. Set back to left 1-storey, 1-bay link (former School entrance) to Fenham House (q.v.). Central boarded door under chamfered 4-centred arch, flanked by 2-light mullioned windows, that to right with latticed glazing. Moulded parapet.
