Details
STOKE DRY SP 98 NE 4/138 Nos 6-10 (consec). GV II
Row of 4 estate cottages. Dated 1858 on tablet. Another tablet in central gable has monogram, coronet and arms of the Marquess of Exeter. Coursed ironstone rubble with narrow bands of limestone rubble. Collyweston slate roofs, 3 rubblestone chimneys. 1 1/2 storeys, 4-5 bays. Chamfered string course stepped over bay windows and date plaque, small central buttress, casement windows with chamfered wooden mullions and horizontal glazing bars, 3 of the upper windows with one leaded light each. 2 upper windows have been replaced. All openings except bay windows have flat stone arches. Outer bays are gabled and projecting, with 2-light casements over canted bay windows. Central range has 2 3-light casements to ground floor, flanking board doors, and 4 2-light upper windows in gabled dormers, the 2 centre windows in single large dormer. Each end has gabled projection with another door to front, the left also with C20 extension.
