PAPPLEWICK LONGDALE LANE SK 55 SE (west side) 2/138 Deputy's house at Papplewick Pumping Station G.V. II Deputy's house, now a house. 1884. By M. O. Tarbotton for the Nottingham Corporation Water Department. Brick with 2 colour slate roof. Gothic Revival style. Ashlar and moulded brick dressings, string course, sill band, machiolated eaves, bargeboards. Single gable and single side wall stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays. L-plan. Windows are mainly mullioned and transomed shouldered casements with bracketed sills. North side has off-centre door with lean-to hood on brackets. To its left, casement. To right, wing with canted bay window, and casement in return angle. Above, to left, 2 casements and to right, double lancet. East side has to left, square bay window. Above, a double lancet. South side has off-centre C20 lean-to addition with door and casement in return angle. Outside, ashlar steps with moulded balustrade and 4 octagonal piers. This building is a detached ancillary building of Papplewick Pumping Station.
