TQ 2980 NE anD SE CITY OF WESTMINSTER SUFFOLK STREET, SW1 71/99 : 82/8 24.2.58 (No 21) Nos 20 to 22 (consec) 5.2.70 G.V. II* Terraced houses, c1822-23 as part of Nash's Suffolk Street-Suffolk Place development although not necessarily to his own designs. Stucco, slate roof. 3 storeys and attic storey, with basements. Each front 2 windows wide. Incised coursing. Ground floors have,right hand doorways to Nos 21 and 22 and left hand doorway to No 20, recessed 4-panel doors with rectangular fanlights, No 20 with pilaster jambs; tripartite ground floor recessed glazing bar sash windows with blind segmental arched tympana. 1st and 2nd floor architraved and corniced glazing bar sashes, those on 1st floor with panelled flanking strips and consoles to cornices; plain square attic windows. 1st floor with continuous course-balcony with diamond and star pattern ironwork; main dentil cornice over 2nd floor and cornice and blocking course to attic. Cast iron crescent and spear head area railings. Important survival of street architecture in Nash's Regent Street manner, in a development which Nash invested in heavily himself.
