II
House. Late C16/early C17 with later additions and alterations. Timber framed
and plastered. Red plain tiled roof. External left and right red brick chimney
stacks. 2 storeys and attics. Rear weatherboarded stair turret. 2 storey left
range of later date with grey slate roof. 2 hipped dormers and 2 window range
of 2 light vertically sliding sashes with horns, pentice boards to ground floor.
Central C20 door. Pedimented doorcase with fluted pilasters. Single window and
C20 door to left extension, moulded flat canopy on brackets. Internal features
include, splat balusters and mould handrail to original 2 storey and attic
staircase. Stop chamfered bridging joists. Staggered side purlin roof, pegged
at ridge. Halved and bladed top plate scarf. Original moulded 3 and 5 board
doors with ironmongery to first floor and attics. C19 outshot rear dairy with
stone flag floor and settling bench. Large chimney stacks, possibly with
original fireplaces under C20 surrounds.
