II

Farmhouse. Perhaps C17 wing to earlier building, restored in C19, or perhaps
C19 cottage in C17 style. Magnesian limestone rubble with some quoins,
steeply-pitched stone slate roof. T-plan: single cell front block, with rear
service wing. Two storeys; plinth with chamfered coping; east front has a
chamfered doorway with 4-centred head and to the right of this a
C19 three-light mullioned window with hoodmould; south gable wall has
recessed double-chamfered 3-light stone mullioned window on each floor, both
with hoodmoulds and both heavily weathered, but with traces of C19
chiselling on some unweathered surfaces. The north gable wall has an
external chimney stack with 2 diagonal chimneys, and to the left of this a
window at 1st floor. The rear wing is of one bay and 2 lower storeys, and
has altered openings. Sable eaves project on ends of small purlins.

Interior of front block has an inserted partition making an entrance passage
from the front door, and no visible evidence of C17 structure.
