House,formerly two tenements. C15 with C17 alterations and C20 extension. Timber
framed and plastered externally with clay pegtile roof, 2 storeys. 3 window range
of various C20 casements. Traditional crosswing and hall plan form. Original
aspect of house reversed. Most of the crosswing frame survives and is of good
quality oak with jowled storey posts, diamond mullioned windows and external bracing.
Crosswing jettied to the east. Simple crown post roof formerly with hip and
gablet to the west now both gabled. Chamfered bridging joist with run-out stops.
Soffit tenons to floor joists. Crosswing of two bays. One bay of original open
hall remains. Inserted floor with moulded bridging joistsand floor joists. (Hollow
chamfers with central roll). Roof has-been raised. Rebuilt roof has hip to south.
Remnants of a green formal foliate design on one high end of the hall.
