House. Late C16/early C17, with late C19 alterations and extensions. Render
over timber frame; gabled old tile roof, with pantiles to rear outshut; late
C19 brickleft end and rear lateral stacks. 2 unit plan, with late C19 brick
outshut and extension to rear; late C19 wing added to front. One storey and
attic; 2 window range. Late C19 four-panelled (2 glazed) door to centre, with
trellised porch. Late C19 three-light casements; gabled half-dormers with
bargeboards; 2 light casement over door. Late C19 one-storey right-angled brick
extension to right; late C19 two-storey extension and outshut to rear.
Interior: C19 plank doors; cased beam to right; chamfered beam with stepped
run-out stops. Exposed timber framing with jowled storey posts braced to
chamfered tie beam; no access to roof space. The right-hand room of this house
functioned as the village post office between 1875 and 1931.
