4/20 Estate offices etc., on south side of courtyard, c.20 metres south of 17.12.68 Great Barn (formaly listed as Stable Cottage at GV Gawthorpe Hall) II

Former farmhouse, stables, cottages etc., probably originally C17, altered at various dates in C18 and C19, part offices and part now (1984) in course of restoration and conversion as arts centre. Sandstone rubble with quoins, stone slate roof. L-shaped plan forming south-east corner of courtyard. Two storeys, the left (east) range perhaps originally a barn, altered as farmhouse in early C18, with plain doorways, various small chamfered mullion windows (mostly 3 lights) and blocked openings including breathers. Rear similar. Right (south) range formerly 2 or 3 cottages, probably later C18, with larger flush-mullion windows and 3 inserted doors. Interior: large chamfered beams visible in east range and south east corner.
