Detached country house. Mid C18, extended in C19. Brick on stone plinth with freestone dressings, hipped slate roof, brick ridge and end stacks. Single front range with 2 flush gables to rear and central projecting lean-to housing stairwell and additional brick wings of C19 to each side at rear. 3 storeys and attic. 5 windows, 1/3/1 12-pane sashes with splayed brick voussoirs with central 3 breaking forward slightly below stone-moulded pediment with oval radial oculus in tympanum. Central first floor window in Venetian style with heavy stone entablature over Doric pilasters flanking the side lights and moulded stone round-headed central light with interlocking tracery, and plain splayed stone apron. Stone sill band to first floor and plat band below above 4 ground floor 12-pane sashes with central projecting stone portico with 2 Doric columns on bases and large plain moulded pediment. 2 pilasters at back of portico and keystone over plain door frame. Door has 4 glazed panels and 2 fielded. Portico on 3 splayed stone steps. 5 small 6-pane sashes to second floor. Interior retains most of its original joinery including very fine mahogany panelled doors to main rooms on ground and first floors. Some original fireplaces, stone flag floor. Stick baluster stair rising to second floor with wreathed and ramped handrail.
