GV II

Footbridge over River Bollin: dated 1820 by John Mellor of Rainow for
Samuel Greg. Bossed pink sandstone. Single segmental arch on low
piers carries a narrow footway with a heavy rounded coping standing on
10 rough piers to form an open parapet. Under the arch on the east
side is inscription J Mellor 1820.

This bridge is similar to others on the estate and by the mill but is
only matched in quality by the Bridge in the Northern Woods (q.v.) and
is the only dated example.
