WATER NEWTON OLD GREAT NORTH ROAD TL 1097 (North Side) 12/164 Tombstone group between c.14 and 17 metres to south of chancel of St Remigius Church GV II
Tombstone group. Four large tombstones. Limestone slabs with round plaques, relief decoration of figures, urns and angels. Identified A-D from north to south. A, inscription unclear; B inscription to Mary? Norton wife of George Norton 1806; C inscription to George Norton 1802; D, with carved head and basket of flowers with rose swags inscribed to Edward Sculthorpe 1810.
