House, now public house, with ground floor now opened out into No.7 adjoining to west (qv). C17 with C18, C19 and C20 alterations. Timber-framed, faced in stucco, above cement plinth. Old tiled roof with Welsh slated margin and moulded eaves cornice below fascia mouldings, 2 box dormers with divided casements, with red brick chimneystack with 2 pots between. 2 storeys and attics, 2 C19 flush set sash windows with divided glazing, ground floor wooden band at lintel level, 2 flush set sash windows with divided glazing, central 4 panel door, 2 panels flush, 2 glazed, recessed in a reveal, eared architrave surround, frieze, pediment with modillions. Passageway on right, now closed. Opened out on ground floor with exposed timber studding. Modern brick extension, with hipped old tiled roof facing rear yard. Until 1960s this was The Bell and Sun Public House, but is now incorporated into No.7, The Old Punch House Inn (qv). (Ware 25" to 1 Mile. Surveyed by the Ordnance Survey Department: 1851-).
