SJ 70 NE DONINGTON C.P. LONG LANE (north side) 2/72 Kilsall Hall -
- II
House. C15 or C16 origins, remodelled C.1740 with late C19 additions and alterations. Pebbledash rendered on stone plinth, plain tiled roof. 2 storeys with attic to central projecting gable; 5 bays, glazing bar sashes, frames flush to wall surface on ground floor, late C19 sashes to gabled dormers; central C19 door with plain C18 doorcase, one brick ridge stack, 2 end stacks; late C19 additions to rear. Interior. Ground floor has late C15/early C16 square oak panelling to hall and to right hand front rooms, C18 decorative plasterwork frieze to left hand front room; first floor rooms have unusual feature of barrel shaped ceilings extending into roof space. The house was formerly an inn on the Wolver- hampton to Newport road.
