2. Circa 1840/50. Pair of houses three storeys, rendered, painted. Banded rustication to pilaster flanking and dividing pair above ground floor. Frieze and moulded cornice with corresponding X pattern balustrades flanked by piers, breaking forward over second floor windows. Two windows each. Second floor: recessed sash, glazing bars intact on No 52, flanked by stucco strips extending below block sills. First floor: No 51 has recessed sash window to left in plain stucco surround with entablature over, block sill and panelled apron below. To the right and on No 52, three canted bays of three lights each, sash, no glazing bars, frieze and moulded cornice, panelled aprons with brackets below. Modern shop fronts to ground floor.
Nos 44 to 53 (consec) form a group.
