6/74 Mill House (formerly 5.6.53. listed as Mill House including outbuildings).

Mill house, of three or more builds, at west consistent with 1737 date on east gable of watermill (q.v.) attached, in centre with map dated 1744, at east an early C19 addition. Red brick, black glazed and smut pantiled roofs. 2 storeys with attics, 7 bay front with L-plan wing addition at north-east and 2 gabled wings at south-west. 4 ground floor 4-pane and 7 first floor 3-pane sashes with glazing bars under flat rubbed brick arches. 2 later C18 wooden porches, both with Doric columns and pilasters with bases and capitals, entablature and flat roofs, moulded door architraves to east with part glazed door with margin lights, all with glazing bars, to west with 6 panel raised and fielded door. At north east a late C19 gault brick canted plate glass sashed bow addition. Ground floor plinth and first floor platband. 3 pedimented 2-light dormer windows, at centre and west with lead glazing bars. East end centre ridge stacks, west coped gable of taller pitch with end stack. Rear elevation has 2 gabled wings at south west, with first floor platband and 2 gable stacks. Centre 3 bays a late C18 corridor addition with 2 semi-circular rubbed brick arched sashes with radial glazing bar heads, early C19 addition to east. Interior has at west of C18 build a fine mid C18 staircase with carved strings and 3 turned balusters to each tread, Kent-style overmantel and other panelling in further room to west.
