The following building shall be included:
SO 83 NE HOLDFAST QUEENHILL 2/18 Barley Cottage
II
House. Mid C17 with C19 and C20 alterations. Timber-frame with whitewashed brick nogging and brick, with plain-tile roof and large projecting brick right end stack. Single storey and attic; 5-window range in all of 2-light casements. C20 glazed lean-to porch with plank door and window within. Three 2-light gabled dormers to first floor. Square panel framing: 10 x 3 panels. Left end has framing and four 2-light casements with a 2-light casement flanked by single lights on 1st floor. Right end also has framing and the stack and a small window in gable. Rear has 3 x 3 panels to right, the rest probably faced or rebuilt in brick in C19. C20 lean-to porch with casements and door, flanked by 2-light casements. Further tiny C20 window to right. Two 2-light gabled dormers over. Interior not inspected but noted as having chamfered spine beams, open fireplace and C20 stairs. The ends of old purlins are visible on the left gable end.
