Farmhouse. C14 or C15 with large mid-C18 addition and early and late C19 alterations and addition. Timber framed of cruck construction, mostly rebuilt and extended in red brick on red sandstone plinth; plain tile roofs, 2-span over later additions. Irregular L-plan; 2 framed bays with later large additions to east. West range: one storey. Integral brick end stack to left. C20 four-light casement to left and C19 two-light casement to right. Right-hand block: 2 storeys and 2 storeys and attic. Chamfered plinth to right-hand part, plat bands to east front, and stone-coped parapeted gable ends; 2 integral brick stack to west and large brick stack off-ridge to east. 2 gables to front; C19 part to right projecting with first-floor horned glazing bar sash and ground-floor tiled-roof bow with triple glazing bar sash, fire insurance plate on right-hand return front; right-hand part set back with 2 segmental-headed 4-pane sashes to attic and first floor; ground-floor C19 flat-topped bow to right with horned tripartite glazing bar sash; early C19 brick porch to left with moulded plaster cornice and blocking course, 6-panelled door (top 3 panels glazed) and probably early C19 lattice wooden porch with ogee lead canopy. East front: 3 bays; segmental-headed 4-pane sashes; painted imitations in left-hand bays; central half-glazed door with rectangular overlight; C20 conservatory adjoining in front to left. Interior: large full cruck truss in west range with peg holes indicating former arch bracing, later tie-beam, and Alcock apex-type A; single purlins and windbraces; mid-C18 staircase in eastern block with turned balusters and moulded handrail.
