MAGDALEN STREET 1. 1092 (North Side) Gateway to Palmer's Almshouses SX 9292 SW 6/288 29.1.53 II 2. Almshouses 1487, demolished mid C19. Remains of Heavitree stone doorway with gable-shaped superstructure and white stone pinnacles. Re-cut tablet, under which is another which reads "Repaired by Nathaniel Rogers, MD 1878". On coping is inscription "Repaired by the Chamber, Anno 1759".
