II

Farmhouse. Circa 1840. Red brick, stuccoed and lined out to imitate ashlar on the 2 principal elevations, fretted bargeboards to oversailing verges, clustered and individually set octagonal stone chimneys, and geometric tiles to roof covering. Regency Gothic style. 'L' plan house, with brick service range as a rear wing. Entrance front; 2 storeys, with advanced gable to left and gabled porch to centre. 2 light ground floor windows flank the entrance, with semi circular heads to lights with margin glazing set within chamfered surrounds beneath hood moulds. Above, the first floor openings are blind, apart from a narrow light above the porch. The porch has a chamfered arched entrance, with a shield within the gable apex, and lancets beneath hoodmoulds to the side walls. Garden elevation to right, with advanced gable to left and single bay to right, both with a wide canted bay window with a shallow parapet. 2-light first floor windows that to the left with hood mould. Interior; porch door with tall arch-headed glazed panels, ribbed vault to hallway, bobbin baluster stair with moulded newel finial and panelled doors within moulded architraves, some with traceried heads to the panels. Principal ground floor rooms with ceiling cornice plasterwork and panelled shutters. One room retains a contemporary Gothic surround to the hearth.
