(formerly listed as Nos 1 and 2 Silkmill Cottages)

Cottages, now house. Late C16, C17 cladding and extended in C18 and C20. Timber
framed, clad in ironstone galleted coursed sandstone with red and grey brick
dressings and quoins. Rendered plinth, brick and tile hung extensions under half-
hipped plain tiled roof to right. Two storeys with ridge stack left of centre.
Three old casements and two leaded casements to right on first floor, three windows
to ground floor. One leaded glazed door to left of centre under stack, with
elliptical brick head and spindle decoration. Further door to right. C20 wings
to rear. One of the few remaining silk mills in the country.
