Barn at Harmansole Farm TR 15 SE SP/41

2. Barn. Probably C15 and C16. Timber framed and weatherboarded above partly chequer brick plinth. Clay plain tile roof with half hip at SE end; C18 or C19 brick gable at NE end. L-shaped with aisles; sealed weatherboarded and gabled waggon entry in NE elevation; later boarded doors in SE end; blocked narrower entries in SW elevation with window at north end. Three windows, roof light and a door in NW elevation.

Interior; north wing on NE axis of roughly 3½ bays on N side and 2½ on south, with crown-post roof, aisel braces, braces to tie beam and aisle plate; some braces missing, Aisled wing at right angles of 3 bays on East side and four on west side; side purlin roof; tie beam and aisle-plate braces, some missing.

Several edge-halved scarf joints in aisle-plate at tie-beam level and many rafters renewed.
