House. Circa late 1860s; cream brick with red brick banding and grey, red and black polychromatic dressings including some sandstone; slate roof; stacks with cream brick shafts with red brick bands. Italianate.

Plan: South west facing. Approximately rectangular, symmetrical plan with short left and right wings projecting to the front, each originally heated from stacks on the outer returns; axial stack to left of centre heating the principal room in the centre. The left end stack has a truncated shaft. Details of plan unclear on survey as access to rear elevation and interior unobtainable.

Exterior: 2 storeys. Gabled roofs with shaped bargeboards, crested ridge and deep eaves on shaped brackets. Symmetrical 1:3:1-bay front, the outer bays the gable ends of the wings, the centre bay gabled to the front. Elaborate polychromatic detail with the window voussoirs in contrasting colours and the verges of the left and right gables decorated with a terra cotta frieze forming a pear-shaped pattern. Windows glazed with 2-pane plate glass sashes. 3 ground floor cnetre windows slightly recessed below polychromatic segmental arched voussoirs. Canted bay windows to the ground floor of the gabled projections with sandstone heads. Slate roofs with deep eaves, surmounted by wrought iron railings. The bays have French windows in the centre with segmental arched doors below an overlight and 2-pane flanking sashes. Triple round-headed windows above the bays, the centre window wider, all with polychromatic voussoirs. The centre window in the main block is recessed below a segmental polychromatic arch. The gable over has a timber pendant.

Interior: Access unobtainable at time of survey but original features may survive.

A C19 villa with a particularly attractive and lively polychromatic exterior.
