II

Farmhouse. Later C17. Red and grey brick in a Sussex-type bond. Left partly rebuilt or refaced in darker bricks. Plain tile roof. Lobby-entry plan of 3 'bays' and stack 'bay'. 2 storeys and attic on brick plinth. Plat band to right of stack. Short length of plat band over window to left 'bay'. Hipped roof. Multiflue brick stack in rear slope of roof, to left of centre. Rear dormers. Irregular fenestration of 4 casements; one leaded three-light to left of stack, one two-light multi-pane casement under stack, and two similar two- light casements to right. Similar windows to ground floor, those to right with segmental heads. Ribbed door within small flint porch with brick dressings and gabled plain tile roof under stack. 1 storey brick rear wing to right, in a similar bond and with hipped plain tile roof. Further addition at right-angles between it and main range. Interior: chamfered axial beam to each 'bay' on each floor. Large brick fireplace with wooden bressumer to right side of stack, smaller fireplace with angled back to left. Stairs behind stack, with dowel balusters and splat newels. Staggered butt-purlin roof.
