House and silk weaver's cottage, now training centre. Late C17 or early C18 with additions in the early C19 and C20. English garden wall bond and Flemish bond brick with slate roof. The double-depth weaver's cottage has 2 storeys (plus basement) and was extended by 4 bays in C19 and by 4 bays in C20. 5-light flat-faced stone mullion basement window with continuous stone head and sill, casement windows and semi- circular relieving arches, 5 with recessed panels above each light. Ground floor has similar windows, 1-light central, 3-light to right and a later bay window to left. Similar 10-light window to first floor the central 3 being blind. Rear has a door to basement with 2 and 3-light windows to either side, 8-light window to ground floor 3 of which are blind and more which are obscured by extensions, and 9-light window to first 4 of which are blind. All detailed as front only ground floor has the relieving arches which form an unusual and distinctive feature. 2 blocked attic gable lights. Chimney stacks removed. 3-bay early C19 additions with bay windows on ground floor and sashes on first. 1 bay late C19 addition with 2-storey canted bay. C20 extension not of special interest. Interior: much altered.
