SJ 98 NE MARPLE ANDREW LANE (north-east side) High Lane 7/48 Lomber Hey - House
- II
House. C17. Coursed rubble, part rendered, with graduated stone slate roof. Irregular plan of 2 and 3 storeys the rear range being lower, more humble in character and much altered. 2 2-bay gabled wings, the left one projecting, rendered and having 3 casement windows. The other has 2 3- light chamfered mullion windows on the ground floor (probably C19) and 2 casement windows on the first. Both have ball finials. The main block is to the right and has 3 bays, 3 storeys, a projecting plinth, continuous first and second floor dripmoulds and a C20 porch to the left. 2 casement windows on ground floor and 3 on the first and second. Coped gables with ball finials and a sidewall chimney stack. The right gable has a 3-light chamfered mullion window on the ground floor, a similar on the second with hoodmould and a casement window on the first. A square opening in the gable surrounds a carved stone face. The rear range is roofed separately and has at some time been heightened in brick.
