Details
EAST LEAKE THE NOOK SK 52 NE (east side) 5/21 Honeypot Cottage II 2 cottages, now single cottage. Early and mid C17 with C18 and C19 alterations. Timber framed, red brick nogging and red brick extensions, some rubble. Slate roof. Single ridge, former gable, red brick stack. 2 storeys, 5 bays, the right 2 bays project and are higher, being mid C17. Early C17 build on deep rubble plinth, mid C17 build on shallower rubble plinth. Having from left to right a single C20 glazing bar casement, a doorway with C20 glazing bar door, a single similar casement, a doorway with plank door and a single similar casement. The first floor being C19 has 3 glazing bar casements. Visible remains of timber frame include 7 posts, former wall plates, 6 braces, groundsill beams and rails. To the left is a lower red brick and slate 2 storey, 3 bay range. Doorway with C20 glazing bar door, flanked by single C20 glazing bar casements. Single casement above. Interior has bressumer fireplace and other beams.
