C18, probably reconstructed circa mid C18 (Survey of London, page 72, Vol. XXVII).
Brown brick, tiled mansard roof behind parapet. Three storeys, basement and dormers.
Three windows, most glazing bars missing. Windows have gauged flat-arched heads and are recessed. Wooden doorcase with architrave, carved brackets and cornice. Panelled interior, stairs with turned baluster and shaped ends approached through Doric archway. Wrought iron area railings (damaged).
No 37 and the Street Lamp Standard form a group with the buildings and walls
of the Central Foundation School for Girls.
