7/165 Walling at old lime kiln, 4/64 behind No. 32
G.V. II
Limekilns. 1797 for Samuel Oldknow. Dressed sandstone. Total of 4 concaved bays which act as a retaining wall and gave access to the kilns which were tunnelled into the hillside. Bays 1 and 2 have a semi-circular headed openings (now blocked) which formerly had 2 tiers of Gothic lights. Bay 3 has a blocked semi-elliptical headed opening.
