Top o'the Green Farmhouse

House. C16 but much altered. Timber-framed with brick
nogging, brick stack and graduated stone slate roof. 4 bays
with 2 storeys and a single-storey C20 addition to left and
rear. Bay 1 (which may have been a granary) and bay 4 were
added to bays 2 and 3 which in themselves show evidence of
various periods of construction including raising of the
eaves line. Bay 1 has been altered to include a recessed
porch and has 2 casement windows on the first floor. Bay 2
has square-panel framing with diagonal bracing. Bays 3 and 4
have a C20 bow window and 3-light casement window and a
porch with pitched roof. 1 has ridge chimney stack.
Interior: closed cruck frame with collar tie and a truss
with curved principals. Much of the internal framing
survives.
