SJ 99 SW WERNETH CHADKIRK LANE (east side) 1/201 Romiley - Chadkirk House
G.V. II
House. "G : N 1748" on rainwater head on a facade which George Nicholson added to an earlier house. Dressed stone with brick chimney stacks and a slate roof. 4-bay 2-storey facade with gable entrance and a slightly older wing to the rear. Rusticated quoins and 4 windows to each floor each with stone surround and Victorian sash. The third first floor window and the gable doorway each have rusticated keystone surrounds similar to those of the adjoining Chadkirk Chapel (q.v.). The doorway also has an enriched cast iron overlight. Gable stacks.
