Former malthouse, later stable and oast house. Stowage mid C18, kiln early C20. Stowage, which was originally built as a malthouse, of English bond brickwork with hipped tiled roof. Two storeys and attics, 4 bays. North east side has gabled lucarne and brick gable, all that remains of an original extension on the north side removed when the kiln was added. North west front has window openings with wooden architraves. South east end has C19 plank door raised above plinth with original circular cat entrance to keep down vermin. Through purlin roof with inserted collar beams but original rafters. Two storeys of floor beams chamfered with run out stops. Attached to north east is an early C20 circular kiln in English Garden Wall bond brickwork. Hop drying floor intact but roof missing at time of survey. A rare survival of an C18 malthouse in this area.
