WINCHESTER STREET 1. 1594 (North Side) Nos 51 to 55 (odd) SU 1430 SE 2/608

II GV 2. Circa 1800. Corner site with St Edmund's Church Street qv. 2 storeys colour washed brick. Steep pitch half hipped slate roof. 4 windows to Winchester Street on lst floor, flush framed sashes, no glazing bars. 1 dormer to No 53. One ground floor early C19 pilaster framed shop front to No 51 returned with 3 light window to St Edmund's Church Street. No 53 plain shop front, pilasters and cornice altered, door to reeded architrave surround with roundel corner blocks, cornice over. No 55 has a sash window to left hand and small Victorian shop window of 3 camber headed thin mullioned lights, cornice and blind case. Central 6 panel door. Front to St Edmund's Church Street of No 51 has 2 flush framed sashes lst floor, one on ground floor to left of shop window, and door to left hand which is part of No 1 St Edmund's Church Street qv.

Nos 51 to 57 (odd) and the Anchor and Hope Public House form a group Nos 51, 53 & 55 form a group with Nos 2 to 10 (even) St Edmund's Church Street qv.
