Winton Field Cottages
GV II
Pair of cottages. C18 appearance, refenestrated in the early
C19 but retaining the core of a C17 or earlier house.
Flint-faced with red brick dressings, tiled roof and
chimneystack to each end. 2 storeys; 4:6 windows. Early C19
metal-framed casements except for 2 on the ground floor.
Ground floor windows have cambered heads. Brick platband.
Plinth. Doorcases have concrete lintels and half-glazed doors.
Integral lean-to to north. C20 extension to rear of no 2. No 2
has large inglenook fireplace of pre C18 date.No 1 has lobby
entrance, exposed floor joists and smaller inglenook fireplace
with wooden bressumer.
