SEEND HIGH STREET ST 96 SE (north side) 4/279 Hill Farm-House 19.3.62 II
Farmhouse, C15 and C16, timber-framed with stone slate roofs. 1 1/2 to 2 storeys. Two main sections, both with exposed framing, to left 2-storey possibly C16, to right 1 1/2 storey C15 range with C17 gable to left and C20 addition to right. Section to left has 2- window range of casements, door to right in gabled stone slate porch, exposed timbers to right with heavy curved tension brace to first floor, left mostly rebuilt in rubble stone. Rendered end- wall lean-to with pantiled roof. Right section has timber-framed gable to left over roughcast ground floor with triple casement, rubble stone to right. Ridge stack. Roughcast section to right is rebuilt in C20 with gabled wing behind. Rear has exposed timbering to 2-storey section with four large tension braces and glazed lean-to along full-length. Interior: two full cruck trusses to former open hall with some blackened rafters. Dormer gable probably added when hall was floored. Heavy chamfered spine beams. (Wiltshire Buildings Record)
