SEEND HIGH STREET ST 96 SW (south side) 13/312 The Hatch 19.3.62 GV II
House, early to mid C18, possibly on C17 core, extended c1800, chequered brick and red brick with ashlar dressings, rubble stone to rear. Stone slate roofs. Two storeys and attic. Main range has rear stack, roof half-hipped to north, 2 gabled dormers and formal 5-window front. Rubble stone raised plinth, string course stepped up in centre and flush quoins at right end. Windows are 2-light flush cyma-moulded with casements and similar window has been inserted in flush moulded centre door case. Rear catslide roof with added red brick half-hipped stair tower to right. Three-light cyma-moulded stair window. Taller south end addition with half-hipped roof, flush quoins and front 6-panel door in raised moulded surround with hood on brackets, set to right, with 12-pane sash in beaded surround over. End wall has 2-light attic window, two 12-pane sashes each floor below. Rear stack and, to left, a projecting half-hipped porch tower, probably added in mid C19.
